6pm, Saturday 30 April | The Neilson
Join Richard Tognetti and the ACO for a two-part panoramic adventure spanning centuries of music.
In this series, the ACO will explore the most sublime, influential and beloved music of the last thousand years. Part One sees the ACO take a leap back in time to the mysticism of the Medieval and the Renaissance, exploring the music of pioneers Hildegard of Bingen and Barbara Strozzi before a celebration of the Baroque that revels in the magnificence of JS Bach.
Schubert’s Quartettsatz will take you through the Classical era, while Beethoven paves the way to the lushness of the Romantic, where the ACO concludes with a section of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.
