A gifted composer, guitarist and vocalist, Icelandic-Norwegian musician LILJA (Oddrun Lilja Jonsdottir) has been making waves on the Oslo jazz scene with her band, an innovative, multifaceted ensemble that encompasses sounds from around the globe. LILJA has toured the world and collaborated on projects with musicians in India, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Iceland and the US, incorporating a diversity of sounds into her singular jazz recordings.
LILJA’s debut album Marble (2020), with 10 tracks named after the cities from which she draws inspiration, was met with rave reviews from critics and audiences in her, homeland, while the 2023 follow up, Mirage, features eclectic collaborations with traditional musicians from Sámpi, Brazil, Morocco and Pakistan.
Such daring, stylistic fusion has become a hallmark of LILJA's sound and made her one of the brightest new stars on the Oslo jazz scene.
