ACO Relaxed Performance

ACO Relaxed Performances – In Your Words

What you can expect from an ACO Relaxed Performance, according to our audiences.

Presented with flexible seating, adjusted lighting and sound levels, and a quiet space to chill out, ACO Relaxed Performances are tailored to those for whom the traditional concert hall experience may be inaccessible. We warmly welcome people with disability and/or who are d/Deaf, including those with sensory sensitivities and other access needs.

We asked our audience what they have loved about ACO Relaxed Performances so far.

Easy parking, a jaw droppingly beautiful venue and a mesmerising show made for the perfect day out.

The best parts of the ACO Relaxed Performance experience for me was the delight on faces of audience and their participation.

Giant Steps Secondary school students were very excited to attend the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s Relaxed Performance of The American. We rarely have the opportunity to attend concerts of this calibre in a mainstream setting but with the help of ACO staff, our students were very engaged and the excursion was a great success. The individualised planning, modifications within the venue, visual forewarnings and sensory supports all contributed to a great day out. We are very grateful to ACO for this amazing experience.

Seeing participants being able to enjoy live music without having to worry about being still or be quiet was my favourite part of the ACO Relaxed performance. The music was spectacular.

A big thank you to all. It is extremely hard to find affordable, quality events that are also accessible.
